As part of the event, the group informed the media about the status of the implementation of the satellite signal coding project, which will take place on January 20, 2020, and detailed the steps that await the market in the near future - the coding of the "Zeonbud" transport signal, the pendulum disconnection of media group signals to satellite subscribers, the launch of HD -versions of TV channels 1+1, 2+2 and TET, satellite coding and transition to new DVB-S2/MPEG-4 satellite broadcasting standards.

Yaroslav Pakholchuk, head of pay TV, and Andrii Malchevsky, director of the distribution and development department of the 1+1 media broadcast network, presented a detailed overview of the domestic Pay TV market over the past years and voiced a forecast of market development opportunities in the future.

"According to our estimates, the number of pay TV subscribers will grow to 6.7 million subscribers, and the size of the market will be almost UAH 10 billion already in 2021. This data is a confirmation that, including thanks to coding, new opportunities will open up for market participants and content producers. Coding, which will take place in 5 months, will give a new impetus to the development of the market - despite the fact that this step is quite difficult to implement, media groups and providers clearly understand why it is happening and what prospects it will open for their development," - Yaroslav commented Pakholchuk, head of pay television of the 1+1 media group.

Also, during the event, new achievements of the group in the fight against content piracy were announced. Thus, over the past 3 years, the group, together with the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, has officially sent more than 150 claims to violators, following which more than 10 searches and recordings of violations of the law were subsequently conducted, as well as 37 criminal proceedings were opened.
