The 1+1 media group, through the court, obliged the investigators to return the property seized during the searches

The Shevchenkiv District Court of Kyiv decided to satisfy the complaint of "1+1 Production" regarding the non-return of property temporarily seized during the SBU searches that took place in the premises of the "Secret Materials" editorial office on February 5, 2020, the tenant of which is the foreign company "1+ 1 Production".

The court established that the search warrant did not contain a direct reference to the seized computer equipment, and the equipment itself, according to the search protocol, was not examined for details on the possible planning and execution of the offense.

The temporarily seized equipment belongs to the enterprise "1+1 Production", against which no criminal proceedings were carried out and which is a third party in this case, and therefore, in our opinion, can be considered seized on illegal grounds and reinforces the fact of the illegality of the intervention of state authorities in the activities of a foreign enterprises.

We welcome the court's decision to return the property, but the very fact of its unjustified seizure and the subsequent inaction of the investigators regarding its speedy return to "1+1 Production" are considered direct actions aimed at hindering the company's activities. Currently, the property has still not been returned to the owner, despite the rendered decision, which gives us grounds to consider the possibility of re-applying to the court with a complaint against the investigators regarding their failure to comply with the court's decision.
