Order of Merit, III degree

TSN journalist Natalya Nagorna and cameramen Mykhailo Putyat and Serhiy Kiselyov received the Order of Merit III degree from the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.

They were among the journalists with whom the president met to congratulate on the professional holiday. The Ukrainian head of state presented awards to mass media representatives for significant personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian journalism, many years of conscientious work and high professional skill.

The president also thanked the media representatives, who "side by side with Ukrainian soldiers are very effectively waging a war to protect Ukrainian information sovereignty, territorial integrity and truth, and true Ukrainian independence." In particular, he noted military journalists who prepare reports on the situation at the front.

At the meeting with the president, military correspondent Natalya Nagorna, who became the first woman in the editorial office of TSN, who went to the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the East of the country, emphasized that behind her award was the significant work of the entire editorial office:

"This is an order "for merit", but these merits are not only mine. This is the titanic work of a large number of people who are usually not seen in the frame - these are courageous cameramen, brave drivers, wise editors, reliable colleagues, creative directors and many others who remain unnoticed. Together we make stories that are no longer just stories for us. These are the destinies of people - fallen soldiers, their weeping widows and mothers, their orphaned children, these are the missing and captured, these are people who lost their homes and relatives in the war. Next to our "merits", unfortunately, there is a lot of grief of ordinary people. The Order is a reminder that we cannot stop."

"I want to wish you to become the president of independent Ukraine, who will end the war. My dream is to shoot a story about the victory in the near future," Natalya added.

In addition, according to Petro Poroshenko, journalism in Ukraine has actually become the fourth power, and among the merits of journalists is the initiative to return the Ukrainian language to the Ukrainian media space.
