1+1 media will distribute the adapted American channel Spike

The "1+1 Media" group will act as the distributor of the exclusive rights of the "Viacom" company for the broadcast of the American TV channel "Spike", the adapted version of which will be available for viewing by Ukrainians from September 1. Spike's entry into the Ukrainian TV market is part of Viacom's global channel distribution policy and strengthening of strategic partnership with 1+1 media.

"Even before the start of broadcasting in Ukraine, Spike attracted a lot of interest from providers, therefore, before the start of commercial implementation, we will provide our partners with the opportunity to test broadcast the channel, so that the viewer can appreciate the high-quality premium content, which in Ukraine until now was present only on pirated online resources," comments Andrii Malchevsky, director of the distribution and development department of the 1+1 media broadcasting network .

The broadcast network of the channel for Ukraine will be programmed in Europe, therefore, depending on the similarity of audience preferences, it will contain similarities to the video tracks of other countries. The concept of its content will be formed taking into account the requirements of the audience and will consist of products of the Spike channel's own production, the Paramount studio, as well as American and situationally Western European TV series of other studios. In particular, the viewer will be able to watch such premium and cult hits as "Force Majeure", "Fargo", "Sherlock", "Sharp Visors", "Kingdom", "Master Tattoo" and many others.

The original language of the broadcast is English. At the time of the launch of the channel, 30% of the content will be available in Ukrainian in the distribution packages of the providers. In the future, the percentage of adapted content in the national language will grow, because part of the income from distribution will be invested in the localization of the TV channel. Also, the video library is fully available in Russian.

Spike is a TV channel for viewers who appreciate high-quality and modern series, films and shows. The video library includes more than 1200 hours of premium content in the action, thriller and detective genres. The channel is designed for an audience of people who are interested in controversial and charismatic characters. The signal is encoded by the Verimatrix conditional access system and broadcast via the Astra A4 satellite on a 1+1 media transponder.
