1+1 media informs about the terms of encoding the transport satellite signal "Zeonbud"

As part of the implementation of the satellite signal coding project, an agreement was signed between the operator of terrestrial digital television LLC "Zeonbud" and the company "IRDETO", which will ensure the implementation of the technical part of the coding of the transport signal. The introduction of the coding system into operation is planned in October 2019.

According to the press service of Zeonbud LLC, IRDETO is one of the world leaders in ensuring the security of digital platforms. The company's portfolio includes cooperation with the American media company "CBS Interactive", the German VOD portal "Maxdome", the Indian global telecommunications company "Airtel" and many other world-famous brands.

Currently, the transport signal that provides the logistics of the television signal to the regional transponders is publicly available on the Astra 4A satellite. This means that it is not protected against use for the purpose of illegal and uncontrolled distribution on the territory of Ukraine and neighboring countries. Therefore, such an important step for the industry as coding will prevent infringement of the copyrights of manufacturers and owners of television products and will provide additional opportunities to increase the share of quality Ukrainian-produced content on television.
