3,000 Blood Donations and UAH 250,000 to Help Children: How Kyivstar TV Viewers Do Good

On the occasion of the International Day of Charity, the film and television platform Kyivstar TV decided to talk about the good deeds that its viewers are doing throughout 2024

On September 5, the world celebrates a day that reminds us of the importance of sensitivity and help to all those who need it - the International Day of Charity. For the Kyivstar TV film and television platform, this is primarily an opportunity to thank its viewers. Ukrainians who watched content legally with the "Charitable" package were able to raise more than a quarter of a million hryvnias to help children with burns.

Kyivstar TV launched the "Charity" package back in 2023. With the purchase of this package, every viewer automatically participates in helping children, since 40% of its cost goes to charity.

Moreover, thanks to the initiative "The real superhero is you" together with the NGO "Blood Agents" more than 3,000 people have already become donors. The platform started cooperation with "Blood Agents" in July. In order to popularize donation and encourage people to donate blood, Kyivstar TV gives every donor a "Premium HD" package for 30 days and a pin "The real superhero is you". The pin collection features characters from famous blockbusters who saved the world. In this way, Kyivstar TV wants to emphasize that the donor is the same superhero as Spider-Man, Deadpool or Batman, but he, unlike movie characters, saves real human lives.

"We are incredibly grateful to every viewer of Kyivstar TV who not only enjoys Ukrainian and world cinema, watches television and sports, but also joins us in charity work. Doing good is in the Ukrainian DNA," commented Viktoriya Maksymchuk of Kyivstar TV SMO.

In addition, Kyivstar TV implemented another initiative to popularize Ukrainian content among the youngest audience and their parents. In cooperation with the creators of the animated product about the history of indomitable Ukrainian cities, Kyivstar TV organized a series of charity screenings of the cartoon series "Travel Book. Cities" in the capital's "Oscar" cinema in the "Gulliver" shopping center. Over the course of a week, hundreds of young Kyivites and their parents watched this animation on the big screen for free. Currently, this animated series can be viewed in free access only with prior authorization on the platform.
