Musical and literary performance "Our Twenties. Word. Music" will take place on the first day of the Book Country festival, September 26, in the Orangery.
The impetus for this unique creative collaboration was the joint idea of the authors of "Our Twenties" to investigate the creative trends of the time and draw stylistic and worldview parallels between the music and literature of the 20s. This event is dedicated to the creative searches of those years, which are known as the heyday of Ukrainian modernism. The project will be presented for the first time as part of "Book Country".

An endless novel", actor Gennadiy Popenko, who played the role of Mykhailo Semenko and is currently a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fighting in the Zaporozhye region, as well as Roman Yasinovskyi, who played the role of the writer Hryhori Epik, will read fragments from the works of artists who created in the 20s of the 20th century .
The musical component will be provided by the NotaBene Chamber Group of the National House of Music, which will perform the Second and Third String Quartets of Borys Lyatoshinsky — works that present the creative pursuits of the composer and the mood of society in the 1920s.
The moderators of the event will be literary critic Yaryna Tsymbal and cultural expert Oleksandr Ostrovsky, who will try to outline the general trends of the artistic space of "Our Twenties".
During the performance, guests will be able to immerse themselves in the work of iconic Ukrainian composers and writers, get to know their stylistic guidelines better, and perhaps find the relevance of today's works in their works.
