Olympic bronze medalist Daria Bilodid fulfilled the dream of the daughter of a Ukrainian defender

The team of the social project «Make a Dream Come True» from 1+1 media helped 13-year-old Anastasia Prepelitsa, a trustee of the «Children of Heroes» foundation, to realize the dream of meeting Daria Bilodid, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games. After the loss of her father, the story of the world champion became a source of inspiration for the girl.

Anastasia's father, Igor, joined the service at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In November 2022, he remained in position during the evacuation of personnel to safety, but went missing. Unfortunately, two months later, the family received news of his death.

Anastasia took the loss hard: she gave up her passion and stopped going to music school. Judo classes helped Nastya find faith in herself. Yes, the dream of the girl — to meet an idol and join the world of big sports — was realized with the support of the mentor of the project, the host of TSN Natalia Ostrovska. 

The meeting with Daria Bilodid took place at the Olympic Center, where athletes of the national judo team of Ukraine train. It was there at one time that Daria prepared for the most important international competitions. 

«During our meeting, Nastya did not hold back tears. However, the realization that it was possible to realize her dream causes me incredible emotions. I understand that it matters and brings benefits. I am very happy with our meeting — for me it is a reason for pride. I am happy to inspire people»,  shares Darya's emotions.

In memory of the acquaintance, Nastya received an autograph on the kimono and some advice from the champion.

«I am very impressed with the acquaintance and want to be like her. I want to move on in sports and become the Olympic champion», the girl noted.
