“Time to Choose Your Wizard”: Official Trailer and Poster for the Film Guardians of Christmas Released, Starring Boklan, Kukuyuk, and Blindar

Christmas Released, Starring Boklan, Kukuyuk, and Blindar Starting November 13, the Christmas comedy that will set a magical mood hits theaters across the country

Boklan, Kukuyuk, and Blindar face off in a magical battle for the title of the main Christmas wizard—and end up in jail. Bumper and Sus become police officers, Candy Superstar works in a library, and winter along with snow vanishes from the face of the Earth. This all unfolds in the official trailer of Guardians of Christmas, a family holiday comedy premiering in cinemas on November 13, launching the winter holiday season. The film is produced by 1+1 media in partnership with UnitedContentHUB.

According to the plot, Saint Nicholas (Ivan Blindar), Santa Claus (Mykhailo Kukuyuk), and the Ancient Spirit of Winter (Stanislav Boklan) meet on December 24, 2023 — the first time Ukrainians celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar. They must decide who will oversee the holiday in Ukraine and which wizard children should write their wish letters to. In the process, they accidentally grant a wish made by a girl named Vira (Arina Trehub), who, in that very moment, wishes that Christmas didn’t exist. Suddenly, the holiday—along with all its attributes—disappears from the city and from people's memories. Instead of carols and festive cheer, the city is engulfed in sorrow. The wizards turn into ordinary people, forget their rivalry, and unite to save the world from the Christmas Armageddon they caused, and to restore Vira’s belief in miracles and hope for a bright future.

There’s just over a month until we meet the audience on the big screen, and we’re excited to immerse Ukrainians in a world of magic, humor, and holiday spirit. This is an invitation for everyone to come to the cinema — for good emotions and belief in miracles, which is so important to hold onto today,” — commented Tetyana Shulyka, producer and co-writer of the project.

The star-studded cast also features Kateryna Kuznetsova as Vira’s mother and Roman Lutskyi as her on-screen father. Accompanying the wizards on their journey is Iryna Ostrovska, portraying a charismatic and bold museum worker. The trailer also reveals cameos: popular blogger Candy Superstar and comedy duo Bumper and Sus (Oleksii Suprun and Serhii Shcherbakov) appear in surprising roles. The team hints at even more Ukrainian stars appearing in the film — for now, kept under wraps.

“Together with Stanislav Boklan and Mykhailo Kukuyuk, we’re bringing lost Christmas back to people. It’s a kind of metaphor about unity, about returning to our roots. I’m one of those old souls who’ve grown up, formed — I’m 33 — and still believe in Christmas miracles. That’s exactly what our film is about”, — shared Ivan Blindar, who plays Saint Nicholas.

The trailer also features one of the movie's soundtracks — the rock-n-roll holiday anthem "Rizdvo Rok-n-Roll" by the legendary Ukrainian band TNMK (Tanok na Maydani Kongo).

In addition, the filmmakers unveiled the official poster for Guardians of Christmas, featuring the main characters — Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus, and the Ancient Spirit of Winter.

“Our film is all about light and positivity, which Ukrainians need so much during these difficult times. We invite everyone on an exciting journey filled with adventures, timely humor, and values that bring people together. We believe Guardians of Christmas will be a strong start to the holiday season and bring a lot of joy to Ukrainian families”, — added Anna Honchar, film producer.

Oleksii Lymarenko, co-producer of the film, summarized:

“We want to bring the Christmas spirit and positive emotions to every Ukrainian family starting November 13 in all cinemas across Ukraine”.
