Thanks to TSN, two friends conquered Hoverla and set a national record

Today, July 14, on the live broadcast of the daytime edition of TSN, representatives of the National Register of Records recorded the record of Yevhen and Yuri, an athlete and a cart driver, who, together with the TSN film crew, conquered the highest peak of Ukraine - Hoverla in an unusual way.

Three months ago, Yevhen Mladzyanovskyi, an athlete, who sought to realize the dream of his best friend Yuriy Savin, who suffered from cerebral palsy and was confined to a wheelchair, contacted the 1+1 TV channel three months ago. The boy had never been to the mountains and wanted to see them from above. Despite the fact that the boys asked for informational support, the TSN team decided to help organize the friends' journey and find specialists who developed the necessary equipment so that Yevhen could take his friend to the top.

Special correspondent Oleksandr Zagorodny and cameramen Serhiy Azarenko and Volodymyr Ostapenko shot a cycle of stories in which they showed all the stages of preparation for the ascent, the difficulties the boys faced on the way to their dreams, and the long-awaited moment that was worth all the effort.

"When Zhenya and Yuriy approached us, we decided that we would help them in everything we could. In addition to logistics, transport and organizational aspects, it was necessary to find those who would develop and manufacture unique equipment that would be strong and at the same time very light. It would seem that these are incompatible things, but then we learned about carbon, which combines these properties. I found specialists who were also inspired by the boys' dream and produced the equipment quickly and absolutely free of charge, when others asked for tens of thousands of hryvnias for it," says TSN special correspondent Oleksandr Zagorodny.

Thanks to the persistence of the boys and the enormous efforts of the entire TSN team, Yevgeny and Yuri still managed to realize their shared dream.

Having learned from TSN broadcasts about the impressive story of Yevgeny and Yuri, the representatives of the National Register of Records of the Book of Records were interested in the boys' unique act, because no one had done such a thing before them, and entered the record into the register despite the fact that the boys did not submit an application.

"This is an unprecedented case. There were many situations in the world when a friend carried a friend on his shoulders. But in all cases, people moved downward - these were rescue operations. Evgeny and Yuriy became the first to go up in this way - from the base camp to the very top," noted Vitaly Zorin, an expert of the National Register of Records.

"No event can happen if you do it alone. It is wonderful that so many people believed in us and helped us. It was thanks to the work of a huge team that we were able to overcome this path. Therefore, this award is an achievement of all of us," said Yuriy, receiving the award.

It is interesting that not only the boys received the award, but also the TSN team, which helped them realize their dream.
