What films, series and programs did Ukrainians watch on Kyivstar TV in July: platform analytics

What changed in the content preferences of Ukrainian viewers in July? Traditionally, the film and television platform Kyivstar TV sums up and shares the analytics of watching series, films, programs and news every month.

 

July was marked by a craving for comedies and adventures, but the demand for the drama genre among domestic viewers fell. Interest in biopics, action films, cartoons and detectives also increased, while melodramas and crime films, on the contrary, began to be watched worse.

FILMS

 

In July, the TOP of the most popular films was mostly foreign, in particular, an exclusive novelty from Amazon — the dramatic film "The Tender Bar", directed by George Clooney. Starring Ben Affleck and Tye Sheridan.

 

The film is available for viewing in its own Ukrainian dubbing, as well as in the original in English. Earlier, in April 2024, content from Amazon appeared on Kyivstar TV. The library of "Amazon" content is regularly replenished with novelties, most of which have received positive reviews from film critics.

Turkish series are the most popular on Kyivstar TV in July in terms of number of views, but Ukrainian series are also not far behind - 2 domestic titles made it to the TOP. Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" series about the American housewife Miriam Maisel, who discovered her talent as a stand-up comedian during a not-so-good period of her family life, also entered the top ten. At the beginning of July, the third season of this popular TV series appeared on the film and television platform with exclusive Ukrainian dubbing.

In July, the total viewing share of the "Edyny Novyni" telethon shows a slight increase compared to June and is 8.72%. As for the news channels within the marathon, the leadership is always maintained by the 1+1 Marathon TV channel.

The film and television platform continues to exclusively broadcast wrestling on the WWE HD channel with Ukrainian commentators. After several months of regular broadcasting, these shows have found their stable target audience, which is evidenced by constant monthly viewing figures.

 

Boxing

 

On July 27, on Kyivstar TV exclusively among Ukrainian OTT platforms and in free access, you could watch the duel between the English heavyweights - Joseph Joyce and Derek Chisora. The vice-president of the National League of Professional Boxing of Ukraine Alina Shaternikova, as well as journalist and sports commentator Dmytro Lazutkin commented on the match.

 

Olympiad

 

As of the end of July, more than 26 million minutes of the Olympics were watched on Kyivstar TV. The attention of Ukrainian fans to this competition influenced the growth of the share of the Suspilne Sport TV channel by 2.6% of the share for July.

 

FAST CHANNELS

 

FAST channels are in demand on the platform. Thus, since October 2023, selections with popular 1+1 media content are available on Kyivstar TV, which can be viewed without authorization and free of charge by absolutely all viewers on all devices — from smart TVs to smartphones, computers, media consoles and tablets.

 

In June, the ten most popular FAST channels received a total of 9.95% of the share (-1.28 compared to June).
