KYIV IS INDESTRUCTIBLE: a large-scale veteran tournament with the participation of 500 athletes took place in the capital
On May 3, Kyiv hosted the traditional sports and health event “KYIV INDESTRUCTIBLE” for the fourth time in a row…
The tournament was organized by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine together with the Department of Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City Council (KCSA).
This year, about 500 athletes took part in the competition — including 300 war veterans and 200 active military personnel and cadets of military educational institutions.
Within the framework of the event, participants competed in six adaptive disciplines:
- bench press for times
- rowing on the “Concept-2” simulator
- keg snatch
- airbike
- strongman
- invastrong
The competition took place taking into account groups of nosologies and injuries, which ensured equal and fair conditions for all participants regardless of their health status.
The award ceremony was held by the host of the 2+2 TV channel and a military man Gennady Popenko together with the host of veteran tournaments Oleksandr Hlyvinsky.
The main goal of "KYIV INDESTRUCTIBLE" is to promote the strengthening of the patriotic spirit, as well as the rehabilitation of military personnel, veterans, representatives of law enforcement agencies and cadets through sports. Special attention is paid to those who were injured or traumatized while performing their duties in a combat zone.
Organizers: NGO "Federation of Strongmen of Ukraine", Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Department of Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration.
General partner of the 2025 season is the tourist complex "Bukovel".
