Kyivstar TV and Ukrainian Film School launch outdoor cinema lectures at VDNG Field

Kyiv residents and city guests are invited to attend a series of free film lectures by Ukrainian filmmakers. Twice a month, visitors can take part in discussions about films, acting and storytelling at the open-air cinema at VDNG Field.

The film and television platform Kyivstar TV and the Ukrainian Film School have launched a joint project to increase interest in Ukrainian cinema and its creators. This event provides meetings with Ukrainian actors, directors, producers and screenwriters, where visitors can learn more about various film professions. Additionally, after each lecture, viewers can watch a Ukrainian or international film at the open-air cinema and join its discussion.

The first lecture "Can anyone become an actor and how to do it?" will take place next week, on Wednesday, July 17, at 7:00 PM. It will be conducted by Ukrainian theater and film actor and curator of the acting program at the Ukrainian Film School, Maksym Mykhailichenko. Recently, he played the role of Lev in Tonya Noyabrova's film "Do you love me?" which delighted audiences in Ukrainian cinemas in May.

"The mission and main task of the Ukrainian Film School is to provide quality film education and train those who want to work in the film industry, as well as those who are hesitant to take the first step towards their dream. Within the framework of the film lecture series in collaboration with Kyivstar TV, our program curators will talk about the specifics of film professions, revealing the secrets and nuances of the film industry. And, of course, they will encourage everyone to pursue their dreams, get new knowledge and skills. Because when, if not now?" said Aliona Tymoshenko, founder and director of the Ukrainian Film School.

Visitors will also be able to watch Antonio Lukich's film "Luxembourg, Luxembourg," eat popcorn and get gifts from the event partners. Entry is free.

The location for the film lecture series was chosen deliberately, as the VDNG Field features an open-air cinema, partnered with the Kyivstar TV platform. Screenings are organized 7 days a week among the gardens of VDNG, catering to both adults and children. Every evening on weekdays, films from Ukrainian and international producers are shown on a large LED screen, and on weekends cartoons are shown during the day. Among the most popular films at the cinema are "Luxembourg, Luxembourg", "Rambo", "The Hateful Eight", as well as cartoons like "Deep" "Shaun the Sheep", "Early Man" etc. The screening schedule can be followed on VDNG Field's social media.

Entry to the open-air cinema is free and to secure a seat, one can simply buy anything from the food court area.

The film and television platform has ensured that visitors feel comfortable despite stabilization power outages. In addition to the uninterrupted operation of the cinema, there are charging stations for gadgets at VDNG Field. The location also accommodates several bars and 300 seats, so it is possible to visit the cinema or lecture with a large group.

All future film lecture events will be announced on the Telegram channel "Cinema for you" and on the Instagram page of VDNG Field.

Media partners of the film lecture series by Kyivstar TV include 1+1 media, tsn.ua, Glavred, and the Kyiv life media YouKyiv.
