On Tuesday, 4 July, 1+1 media group together with WAW: Alternative Media presented a new video developed as part of the socially important initiative "Add Ukrainian".
In the thematic video, the authors talk about how our language is enriched and who is actively changing it. In addition, with this video aimed at promoting the Ukrainian language and culture, 1+1 media and WAW once again remind us that we should not be afraid of mistakes and Russisms when switching to Ukrainian.
"For a long time, the information and cultural space has been dominated by the Russian language, but today we are finally choosing our own. When switching to Ukrainian, of course, you may hear Russisms - words taken from Russian. Don't be ashamed of it..." the video says.
The video also says that the established stereotypes imposed by Russia should be destroyed and rejected:
"Ukraine is multifaceted. Like in many other countries, its language has many dialects or accents. But this does not prevent us from understanding each other regardless of the region. The fact that Ukrainians do not understand each other is a damned stereotype that should have been thrown in the trash long ago."
