The dream of the daughter of a deceased soldier came true on the set of the TV series "Silent Nava"
The team of the social project "Make a Dream Come True" from 1+1 media, together with the film and television platform Kyivstar TV, helped to realize the wish of 18-year-old Sofia Rushchyts, a ward of the Children of Heroes Foundation.
Her father, military serviceman Oleksandr Rushchyts, was killed during a missile strike on a training center in the village of Desna in May 2022. For Sofia, this loss was extremely painful, because she still believes that her father is alive.
Nikita Dobrynin, a mentor of the “Make a Dream Come True” initiative and host of the “Closer to the Stars” project on the TET TV channel, also joined in making Sofia’s dream come true: “In the “Make a Dream Come True” project, we see children who have extremely difficult lives, more difficult than many adults. These are children who, despite everything, sing, dance, play sports, remain happy and at the same time get to know their idols — actors, football players, singers, artists, etc. And we try to do everything possible so that they can talk to their idol and be inspired.”
Despite all the trials, the girl is already confidently moving towards her dream — she is studying acting at the I.K. Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Film and Television. That is why the girl’s biggest dream was to see her favorite actor Oleksandr Rudynsky. And this dream came true thanks to the support of Kyivstar TV — the meeting took place on the set of the new original series “Silent Nava”, in which Rudynsky plays the main role.
“Sofia is charismatic, has a temperament, which is very important in the profession. She is wonderful. I never wanted to be an idol, but I wanted people to respect what I do. When young people, especially those who are studying to be actors, are inspired by you — this is definitely the most pleasant thing that can happen. I always told myself: “Don’t be afraid to look for idols, people you will look up to”. It is extremely important, and it is nice that I can be in this place”, — Oleksandr Rudynsky, theater and film actor, the main character of the series “Silent Nava”.
The series “Silent Nava”, on the set of which Sofia’s dream came true, is the first Ukrainian project in the style of true crime. The events unfold in a small town of the same name. The main character is a young lawyer who accidentally finds himself at the center of an investigation into a series of brutal crimes. On his way, he encounters the indifference of society, the tacit consent of his surroundings, and the inertia of the system. The story focuses on how silence and inaction can become accomplices in a crime, as well as how easily the system turns against those who try to change it from within.

“Make a Dream Come True” is a social project of 1+1 media, within which the team realizes the intangible dreams of children of heroes who lost one or both parents as a result of the war. A large-scale initiative that restores faith in miracles and helps to feel warmth, support and inspiration again.
In 2023, 1+1 media relaunched the initiative. Currently, the team is focused on realizing the wishes of the wards of the Children of Heroes Foundation who lost one or both parents as a result of the war.
