A cartoon about empathy, friendship, and support: an early screening of "Useful Tips" by PLUSPLUS TV channel took place at KMDSH
On September 1, the Day of Knowledge, an early screening of the new season of the animated series "Useful Tips" by PLUSPLUS TV channel took place at the KMDSH school in Kyiv. The students watched the episode "Empathy", which served as the basis for an open lesson prepared by the teachers.
"Useful Tips" is an animated edutainment project for younger school-aged children that talks about important things in a simple and engaging way. At the center of the plot are the constant PLUSPLUS characters Trykutya (Triangle), Kvadrik (Square), and Kruzhko (Circle), who find themselves in unusual situations and learn to better understand themselves, others, and the world around them.
Topics of the new season include bullying, criticism, caring for pets, empathy, mistakes, internet safety, and other important issues. Each episode ends with a brief summary containing practical advice to help children reinforce the knowledge they've gained.
The new season of "Useful Tips" consists of twelve 5-minute episodes and more than twenty 10-second useful videos aired on the channel. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the nationwide mental health program "How Are U?" — an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
"The episode on empathy is the first in the new season of the animated series. We understand how important it is to gently explain to children that the ability to empathize is incredibly valuable, especially in our times. In the cartoon, we showed how Trykutya and Kvadrik learn to support Kruzhko, who was moved to tears by a story about a little turtle. It’s very meaningful that KMDSH teachers prepared an entire lesson on empathy based on the episode.
