Dmitry Bendikov, TSN.ua Editorial Editor, Died at the Front
On March 18, the senior editor of the TSN.ua website, Dmytro Bendikov, died at the front. Dmytro began his career at 1+1 Media in June 2023, and a little more than a year later, in July 2024, he joined the ranks of the Security and Defense Forces. He served in the Third Separate Assault Brigade and died while performing a combat mission in Eastern Ukraine, where he himself was from.
Colleagues note that Dmytro was always full of optimism, charged with his energy and captivated with his worldview. Even while on the front line, he found time to cheer up the team and tell interesting stories from his service. And he also loved his work madly, lived journalism and devoted most of his life to the profession.
“Our Dima is on the shield. These are the hardest words I have to say. Dima is from Eastern Ukraine, where he died. He reclaimed a piece of land where he was born, and gave his life for this land. He is our Friend, our Colleague, our Defender. At all times, he was always smiling, always knew how to joke and find words that made everyone smile and see the positive. We were all waiting for his return from the front, and he joked: "Well, Trump promised to end the war in 24 hours, so wait a little longer." Dima is a bright person, a positive person, a person who will never leave anyone," notes Svetlana Panyushkina, head of TSN.ua.
Dmitry devoted himself to work to the point of a million, never leaving a shift until all the important news appeared on the site.
"His shift was evening, but you could see him at night, because he believed that he needed to finish the work. It was always easy and reliable with him. He always kept everything under control, I am sure that it was the same at the front. I always relied on him, convinced that my brothers and sisters did too. We must remember all those who gave their lives for us. And also not forget those whose relatives lost the meaning of life. It so happened that Dima has no relatives here, and his elderly mother is alone. Instead of his only son, we have to take care of her now. Eternal memory to my very dear and close Dima,” Svetlana concluded.
Dmytro is survived by his elderly mother, Hanna Semenovna. You can support her by following the navigation below:
