Official statement by 1+1 Media regarding a report by the “Khapuga UA” editorial team

In connection with the situation surrounding a report by the “Khapuga UA” editorial team published on the TSN YouTube channel, covering the activities of religious organizations in Ukraine, we would like to state the following.

The material received criticism from part of the public regarding the completeness and balance of the information presented. The editorial team has taken note of these remarks and is factoring them into its further work. After publication, an attempt was made to obtain additional comments in order to present the positions of the parties mentioned in the report; however, consent was not obtained. In view of this, we have decided to restrict access to the respective video.

At the same time, maintaining an open and constructive dialogue is of fundamental importance to us. We are currently in ongoing communication with representatives of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine "Ummah", as well as with Said Ismagilov, chaplain of the Second Medical Battalion and Senior Lieutenant of the Chaplaincy Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We believe that mutual respect and cooperation are essential for ensuring balanced and responsible coverage of sensitive topics.

We would also like to emphasize that we have previously expressed a joint position regarding the unacceptability of threats and pressure from unknown individuals directed both at journalists and representatives of religious organizations. We believe that such actions have nothing in common with civilized discourse and may be aimed at destabilizing the situation in society. All relevant materials have already been handed over to law enforcement authorities, and we expect that those responsible will be identified and held accountable.

We are convinced that responsible journalism, openness to different viewpoints, and a willingness to engage in dialogue are the foundation of trust and social unity — especially in times of war. This is the approach we remain committed to.
