In April 2022, Alan Badoev publicly promised to work on the cultural border between our enemy and Ukraine. The first step was the director's documentary The Long Day, which allowed viewers from more than 35 countries to experience the truth about the war in Ukraine. Now it's time for the second step. According to the creators, it aims to create a new epic to tell the world who Ukrainians are and what our strength is.

Work on the project began in May 2022, immediately after the de-occupation of Kyiv region. Then, after a 10-year pause in their work, Alan and Olga met in Kyiv on Volodymyrska Hill and found an idea that captured both of them, reviving their collaboration as a result. Since then, the project has grown significantly and attracted historians, mythologists, geographers, artists, composers, designers, language consultants, researchers, and other unique specialists, while continuing to bring together talented Ukrainians.

‘We strive to revive the memory of our roots for Ukrainians and create new legends that will give strength to all future generations and enchant the world. So we took all the most interesting things from our mythology and history and turned them into an unusual, autochthonous universe that will reveal what Ukrainian strength is and where it comes from,’ say the project's creators, Alan Badoev and Olga Navrotska.

‘It is important to support and promote projects that tell the story of the nation's history and culture, because it is through them that we preserve our national identity and pass it on to the next generations. History helps us understand who we are and allows us to learn from the mistakes and achievements of the past. Culture, in turn, shapes our values, traditions and worldview. By supporting such projects, we not only enrich our national heritage, but also reveal our uniqueness to other nations, promoting mutual understanding and respect in the world. That is why BadoevID will be responsible for the development of the project. We are pleased to unite Ukrainian companies and brands and are confident that this will be an incredibly beautiful, emotional journey,’ Anna Kovaleva, co-founder of the BadoevID creative agency, comments on her participation in the project.

Chronicles of Power begins its long journey with a prologue called Prayer of Power. According to Alan Badoev and Olga Navrotska, this prayer was created to convey the power of our roots to every Ukrainian in the darkest times.

‘Prayer of Power is a manifesto of unity. It presents the main characters of the epic, which is based on folklore and mythological roots and historical events from Scythian times to the present day. The first Cossack character Hort, Princess Olga, the god of thunder and military victory Perun, the Scythian queen of the Amazons Tabitha and the Ukrainian goddess of death and balance Marena address the audience in prayer.

The music for the prologue of The Chronicles of Power was composed by Max Barskykh. This is not the musician's first work as a composer. Barskykh has been a big fan of fantasy since childhood, so he was inspired to create the soundtrack for Prayer of the Force, as he had long dreamed of something similar in Ukrainian cinema.

The fantasy universe of Chronicles of the Force will include comics, a fiction book, an animated and fiction series, and a computer role-playing game.

The first closed presentation of The Force Chronicles project for journalists took place on 9 October at the Oscar cinema in Kyiv (Gulliver shopping mall).

The project's media partner is 1+1 media.
