The position of 1+1 media regarding the broadcast of football matches of the 15th season of the Ukrainian Premier League

1+1 media supports fans and connoisseurs of Ukrainian football and will make free broadcasts of matches of Ukrainian football clubs within the framework of the Ukrainian Football Championship of the Ukrainian Premier League of the 15th season 2022/2023. In particular, in response to the official appeals of the clubs, the games of FC Dynamo Kyiv, Dnipro-1, Zorya, and Metalist will be broadcast on the group's resources. 1+1 media group has active multi-year and long-term contracts with these clubs. However, this year football clubs transferred the rights to broadcast UPL matches free of charge, citing the importance of taking into account the interests of all fans, the maximum distribution of football content and free access to it.

Accordingly, the 1+1 media group operates on the basis of long-term, multi-year contracts. Broadcasting rights were granted by football clubs, including the right to film matches. Such rights were not transferred by clubs to the Ukrainian Premier League. There are internal problems in the organization of the work of the UPL, due to which such situations periodically arise.

We share the desire and mission of the clubs to support fans in this difficult time, protect their interests and provide Ukrainians with as wide and free access to football content as possible.

For its part, 1+1 media ensures maximum free distribution of matches and creates additional content related to this important football event. Thus, the matches are shown on the publicly accessible national TV channels 2+2 and UNIAN, which broadcast on digital air, which provides wide coverage throughout Ukraine. Also, live broadcasts are available on YouTube channels of sports projects 1+1 media - FootballHub and "Profutbol Digital". In addition, all users of the online television platform Kyivstar TV, which is a partner platform of Kyivstar and 1+1 media, will be able to watch broadcasts of matches on channels 2+2 and UNIAN for free.

In addition, taking into account the importance of such content, 1+1 media resources will create additional content: sports journalists and commentators will prepare stories, special editions of programs that will tell about the course of events of the championship.

1+1 media will cover all expenses related to the organization of telecasts of the matches of the specified clubs.

As for the blocking of the broadcast of the match "Zorya" - "Vorskla" on YouTube on 1+1 media sites on August 23, the match was shown in a legal way, because 1+1 media has all the necessary rights to show the content. In turn, we filed a counter-appeal, submitting all the necessary legal documents. According to YouTube rules, it will be reviewed within 14 days."

Also, in response to numerous comments regarding the rights to broadcast the specified matches, we inform you that we cannot provide copies of the contracts on the rights to show the content, as this is confidential and commercial information that cannot be disclosed. However, we requested official letters from the mentioned FCs with key information confirming the legality of our actions. Details will be available later on the official website of 1+1 media.
