“Real History” by Akim Halimov is now on YouTube with foreign dubbing

New episodes of one of Ukraine’s largest YouTube channels on historical topics will now be available to foreigners: they will be dubbed in English and Polish

The YouTube channel “Real History”, founded and hosted by journalist and producer of 1+1 media Akim Halimov, will increase the number of audio tracks in new episodes. For the next releases, the project team will prepare an English dubbing. In addition, viewers will be able to watch some of them in Polish. Akim Halimov told about this on his Facebook page.

“You often ask in the comments when “Real History” will be in English so that foreigners can also learn the truth about our history? Indeed, dubbing in foreign languages will allow us to do this for a much wider international audience. If we don’t tell foreigners about Ukraine, what our history, culture, and achievements are, then Russia will do it for us. Yes, we have long wanted to dub episodes in foreign languages, but it is always a question of resources. Fortunately, thanks to the sponsors of our YouTube channel, our “Real History” community, this has now become possible. The last few episodes already have English dubbing, and some in Polish. This is how our community works!” shared Akim Galimov.

Traditionally, sponsors of the “Real History” channel will have early access to videos in foreign languages without advertising integrations. You can join the community here.

Last Friday, a new episode of “Princess Olga. Real History”, which analyzes the legends associated with her: how Olga burned the Drevlyan capital Iskorosten with the help of birds, taking revenge for the murder of Igor's husband, then burned the Drevlyan ambassadors in a Kiev bathhouse, and buried the next delegation alive in the ground. Now Olga's cruelty is being discussed by the whole world. But what is true and what is a beautiful legend? Was Olga, whom the church considers a saint, really such a sadist? Ukrainian and foreign viewers will find the answers to these questions in the new issue.

The Real History project was founded by Akim Halimov in 2022 with the aim of disseminating true facts about our state in contrast to the imperial narratives of Russia. It combined the YouTube channel of the same name, a series of documentary and historical films, public lectures on the popularization of history, the restoration of historical and architectural monuments, etc. In particular, since 2024, the project team, together with an initiative group, has been engaged in the restoration of the 18th-century Cossack estate "Pokorshchyna" in Kozelets, Chernihiv region. You can donate to the collection for emergency and repair work for the unique Cossack estate of Livoberezhye at the link.
