Strong Spirit’s Games: Sports Competitions for Veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian War Have Started in Ukraine

1+1 Media, UNIAN and 2+2 have become media partners of the competition and will cover the events throughout the year.

Throughout 2025, sports competitions for veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Strong Spirit’s Games, will be held in various cities of Ukraine, traditionally organized by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine. 1+1 Media, 2+2 TV channel, and UNIAN news agency have become general media partners of the competitions. The cooperation is aimed at supporting and popularizing the topic of sports among veterans. The organizers emphasize that the competitions are designed to promote the physical development and mental recovery of veterans. They also aim to increase public attention to the importance of the reintegration of veterans into civilian life.

The competition program includes classic strongman disciplines and adapted exercises for participants with disabilities.

“We are sincerely glad that thanks to the regularity of the competitions, the organization of the Strong Spirit’s Games international competitions last year and the constant support of partners, this year the number of veteran participants is skyrocketing! We call on every Defender to be an example to follow and a model of irresistibility!” commented Serhiy Konyushok, President of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine.

Like last year, the final of the national selection for the national team will be held on September 13-14, 2025 at the Bukovel Sports Complex, which is the general partner of the veteran competition season. Based on the results of the selection, a national team will be formed that will represent Ukraine on the world stage. Last year, with the support of partners, the Ukrainian team won the largest number of awards and became the most numerous team in the final of the competition in Madrid.

The NGO “Federation of Strongmen of Ukraine” regularly organizes sports competitions for war veterans, the purpose of which is to promote physical rehabilitation, psychological adaptation and social integration of defenders of Ukraine through sports.

1+1 Media actively supports social initiatives designed to help veterans on their way back to civilian life. As part of the partnership, the media company will provide information support for the competitions, including coverage of events on its platforms.
