Tetyana Tabachenko - Broadcast promo director (trainee) TV channel 1+1

It all started with an announcement about recruiting for an internship on the 1+1 media website, which I wrote instead of preparing for university exams. Then there was a video resume, a background test, an interview (at which I was nervous for the last time in my life), and here I am. By the way, I passed the exams well.

On my first day, I had no idea how to work in Final Cut. I didn't even know how to glue or even cut a video. But most of all, I wanted to learn everything as quickly as possible and make cool videos. In just a couple of months, my first announcement went live, but I'm still learning. And I am proud of the fact that the #team of the best teaches me.

During my internship, I met wonderful, amazing, incredibly talented people who are always ready to help. Even when, from the fifth time, I did not understand how to set the correct settings of the sequence, they patiently explained to me the fifth time. Then I learned a lot of cool things, like, for example, what is a die, synchronization, what is the difference between full-screen credits and credits on the alpha channel, what are the graphics like, and that the purple stripe on the side of the video is an out and it's normal. Learning all the professional terms, let alone explaining them, was quite difficult, and I sometimes still say "this thing" when I ask a question, but progress is already evident.

What is the coolest thing about an internship? This is when you come to work before everyone, and leave - after everyone, and in between you spend the whole day editing, occasionally taking coffee breaks. When it's dark outside the window, and you're watching a clip with already mixed sound, and you realize: what you're going to broadcast five minutes later is a good job. At least today, now. Because tomorrow you will come early again so that you have time to watch the series for the next announcement and you will try to make the video even better, and you will try to jump higher heads again. Because this is what I want all the time - to make better than just good. And even though I haven't managed to do anything exceptional yet, I'm making every effort, and one day I'll succeed.

I know that in order to become a really good director, you need a lot of life experience. And I am happy that I get this experience every day here, on 1+1 media. The very work on the Vremya ot Vremnia TV channel reminds me of a movie. Sometimes it's comedy, sometimes drama, and sometimes action - for example, when you extinguish burning deadlines with all your might, but this is the funnest of all.

I just want to say that it is very important to do your favorite thing. Find something that really brings you pleasure, something that you really love with all your heart and something that you don't mind giving all your energy and time to. It is very important to do something that truly excites and engages.

Ps And yes, no one still believes me when I say that I love my job.

Do what you love.

Love what you do.
