Three Ukrainian Championships and over UAH 1,1 million for the “Hospitallers”: how the 15th Work.ua Kyiv Unbreakable Half Marathon 2026 took place

On April 4–5, the 15th Work.ua Kyiv Unbreakable Half Marathon 2026 took place in Kyiv.

This year, 9750 runners from 28 countries participated in the event, including from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, the Czech Republic, Japan, and New Zealand. The largest number of runners came from Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Work.ua Kyiv Unbreakable Half Marathon has brought together thousands of people around a charitable goal — supporting volunteer medics. 50% of the event’s profit was donated by the organizers to the Hospitallers Volunteer Medical Battalion, which has been operating since 2014. This year 1 177 650 hryvnias was raised.

“It is important to remember that we are all running one shared distance — for Ukraine that does not give up. Friends, run with your heart, with gratitude and unwavering faith. Glory to Ukraine!”, — commented Dmytro Chernitskyi, founder of Run Ukraine and a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

As part of the race, the Ukrainian Road Running Championships were held at distances of 21 km, 5 km, and 1 mile for adults, youth, and juniors. The competitions were organized jointly with the Athletics Federation of Ukraine. The winner of the 21 km championship was Bohdan-Ivan Horodyskyi, who finished with a time of 1:04:51. Second and third places went to Ivan Strebkov and Dmytro Siruk.

“My coach instructed me to run smoothly and only start pushing in the final kilometers. Until the 13th kilometer, we stayed in a group, and then — about a kilometer before the North Bridge — I was running alone. Due to certain health issues, I wasn’t sure until the last moment whether I would be able to take part in the Kyiv Half Marathon. However, running at home is always a pleasure — the support of friends and fellow athletes helps incredibly”, — Bohdan-Ivan Horodyskyi shared.

Among women, Nataliia Strebkova was the fastest in the half marathon with a result of 1:13:14. She was followed by Ivanna Chereshniovska and Nataliia Burkovska.

“This is my first competitive season after the birth of my daughter. I switched to longer distances and feel in great physical shape: I have a lot of strength and motivation to run again”,Nataliia Strebkova commented on her victory.

In addition, Run Ukraine held, for the first time in Ukraine, an age-group championship at the 21 km distance, as well as individual races at 10 km and 5 km, children’s races, and the symbolic veterans’ start “Heroes of the Nation”. The Run Ukraine Spring Run Collection also concluded during the Kyiv Half Marathon, where Run Ukraine, together with partners and runners, converted kilometers into charitable aid.

Every finisher of the Work.ua Kyiv Unbreakable Half Marathon 2026 received a unique medal. Its design reproduces rays merging into one whole, symbolizing the power of unity. Each runner is a ray of energy — and only together do these rays create a powerful flow capable of changing the space around them.
