Book Arsenal 2025 will be held in Kyiv: what the festival has prepared this year

In 2025, the international festival "Book Arsenal" will begin on Thursday, May 29, and will last until June 1 at the Mystetsky Arsenal (10-12 Lavrska St.). This is a grand intellectual event in Ukraine, where the book, literary, and art scenes develop and interact, and important issues of human existence, as well as society and culture, are raised and considered, encouraging participants and visitors to take a proactive position. As part of its support for socially important events in Ukraine, 1+1 media has become a media partner of the festival.

Visitors will be able to enjoy more than 200 events of the Festival program, including Focus Theme programs, the Main Program, individual curatorial and special programs, as well as publisher programs: discussions, lectures, readings, workshops, meetings with authors, musical and performative events.

In addition, a book fair will be held - the location will feature 100 large, 11 small publishing houses and 6 bookstores, as well as partner stands of military and volunteer initiatives. This year, the Book Arsenal will also host the Illustrators' Fair: 12 artists, graphic designers and artists will present their works in various visual solutions and styles.

16 exhibition projects will also take place during the event.

Festival schedule:

• Thursday, May 29: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (entrance to the Festival area from 4:00 PM)
• Friday, May 30: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Saturday, May 31: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Sunday, June 1: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM

In the event of an air raid warning, the Festival will resume 30 minutes after the warning has ended. The Festival will not resume if the air raid warning is lifted at 7:30 PM or later.

Book Arsenal is organized in cooperation with the NGO "Community of the Art Arsenal". The festival is supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.

Book Arsenal is held with the support of the "Partnership for a Strong Ukraine" program, which is funded by the governments of Great Britain, Estonia, Canada, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden.

The co-organizer of the Focus Theme program of the Book Arsenal is "Documenting Ukraine, a program of the Institute for the Humanities in Vienna (IWM Vienna)". Also, the development of the Focus Theme was supported by the US Embassy in Ukraine.

A special teenage program from the "Literary Laboratory for Teenagers" is held with the support of the British Council program "Support for Cultural Activities in Ukraine with the Participation of Great Britain".
