The 15th Anniversary Kyiv Marathon of Indestructibility 2025 Was Held in Kyiv: 13,508 Participants and Over 2 Million UAH for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The 15th anniversary Kyiv Marathon of Indestructibility 2025 by Run Ukraine took place in Kyiv on October 11-12. Traditionally, 1+1 Media became the media partner of the sporting event.

The event brought together 13,508 participants, 12,402 of whom started in the center of Kyiv, on Trukhanov Island. Among the participants were hundreds of military personnel and veterans with prostheses, as well as runners from 45 countries around the world, including representatives of Britain, France, the Czech Republic, Norway, Poland, Germany, the USA, and Spain.

Dmytro Chernytsky, the general manager of Run Ukraine, who currently serves in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told how it all began 15 years ago.

“The Kyiv Marathon of Indestructibility is what we do together: everyone achieves their goal, and we all achieve a common goal. Today we have one goal - to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to support everyone who is fighting today on the front. Thank you all for these 15 years together. Today this story continues,” commented Dmytro Chernitsky.

As part of the Kyiv Marathon of Indestructibility 2025, the Ukrainian Marathon Championship among adults and youth was held, which was held under the auspices of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation. The Run Ukraine event hosted the Ukrainian Marathon Championship for the first time in 15 years.

On the main day of the event, October 12, 50 veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and active military personnel who were seriously injured at the front took to the start line; they covered a symbolic 100 meters within the “Take the Next Step” distance.

Another hero of the event was Vladislav Blazhchuk, a war veteran and graduate of the Superhumans rehabilitation center, who first covered a distance of 42 km after being injured.

Despite the airstrikes in Kyiv, the country's main marathon took place and fulfilled its main task: at the moment, the event has already collected and transferred more than 2.5 million hryvnias for large drones for the Special Operations Forces (SOF): 2,005,468 hryvnias from registration fees and another 552 thousand hryvnias in donations per envelope.

“We are either at the front or for the front. Friends, this is your result, we simply helped to accumulate it. We collected more than 2 million hryvnias on the current account so that there would be more dead Russians,” commented Ivan Tretyakov, organizational director of Run Ukraine.

Also, on October 12, the Bigozbir.Speka from Run Ukraine ended, which collected 9 million hryvnias for charity.

The winners of the event on the main distance, 42.195 km, in the absolute were Maksym Anenko, who finished with a time of 2:21:17 and Ivanna Melnyk with a result of 2:49:31.

“Today the weather is great for a marathon, 10 degrees — the most comfortable. During the race, the GPS did not work and it was not clear at what pace we were running. Therefore, we started faster than planned. After 30 km, it was already a bit “covered”. But the track is good, beautiful, quite fast, although we ran on two bridges, there were climbs, but you can run fast. I managed to fulfill the plan and run out to the master of sports,” Maksym commented on the victory.

Among women, the marathon distance was won by Ivanna Melnyk, who took the lead from the first kilometers.

In addition to the main distance of 42.195 km, the Kyiv Marathon also held running competitions for other distances: 21 km, 10 km, relay, Veteran Ten, 5 km, 1.6 km and children's starts.

In addition, the Kyiv Indestructibility Marathon 2025 became the final stage of the Indestructibility League 2025 from Run Ukraine, which this year united three large-scale running events — VUSO Indestructibility Decade.
