"Ukraine of the Future. Outplay the Aggressor": watch the documentary project on the 1+1 Worldwide platform

On August 24, Ukraine will mark the 34th anniversary of its declaration of independence — 12 of those years have been spent in a war against the Russian Federation.

"Ukraine of the Future. Outplay the Aggressor" is a documentary project on the 1+1 Worldwide platform, dedicated to the experiences of countries that live next to aggressors, suffer from missile strikes and terrorist attacks, but despite the constant threat, continue to develop, modernize, and remain independent.

In the episode:

  • Israel, which in 2025 celebrates 77 years since its declaration of independence, though in 1948 was predicted to last only two years — and today is considered one of the most innovative countries in the world.
  • Kuwait, which was completely destroyed by Saddam Hussein's army, and is now flourishing.
  • South Korea, which managed to become the world's tenth-largest economy while living next to North Korea, which periodically threatens to use nuclear weapons.

The project not only tells the stories of nations that live in a state of existential war, but also raises key questions:

  • Can Ukraine follow the unique path of those countries that have endured decades of war and conflict, yet amaze the world with their achievements?
  • How is national security evolving?
  • What changes is Ukraine undergoing right now to protect itself from a despotic neighbor and secure a chance for a flourishing future?
