From Kharkiv Region to Lviv Region: Superheroes from Across Ukraine Meet TV Host Nelya Shovkoplyas

As part of the “Make a Wish Come True” project, Nelya Shovkoplyas, initiative mentor and host of the morning show “Breakfast with 1+1” on 1+1 Ukraine, joined an online lesson at the Superheroes School.

Within the framework of 1+1 Media’s “Make a Wish Come True” project, Nelya Shovkoplyas, the mentor of the initiative and host of the morning show “Breakfast with 1+1” on 1+1 Ukraine, visited the Superheroes School to support children undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions.

Her visit became an important part of the network lesson, bringing together superheroes from 26 branches of the School — from the Kharkiv region to Lviv — allowing children from different parts of the country to connect with the TV host, share their emotions, and present their drawings and posters that united everyone despite the distance.

The participants took part in an interactive session titled “Superpowers We Take into Summer,” aimed at helping children recognize their strengths, discover inner resources, and end the academic year on a positive note in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Among the most touching moments of the meeting were birthday wishes for Andrii from Zakarpattia, as well as meeting Yehor, the very first superhero of the new educational space in Kyiv.

In turn, Nelya Shovkoplyas shared her own “superpowers,” warm childhood memories, dreams, and the story of her journey into television. In particular, the host revealed that as a child she dreamed of becoming a surgeon, but later the courage to dream led her into the media industry.

“I’m overwhelmed with emotions. Children, teachers, psychologists — you are incredible. I’m so happy I had the chance to visit again. I’m left with wonderful feelings because meetings like these are truly inspiring. Thank you to everyone who supports the patients. Not only are the children superheroes — the teachers are superheroes too,” the TV host shared.

To commemorate the meeting, participants took joint photos and exchanged warm wishes with one another.

The Superheroes School is a unique state educational institution and the only one of its kind in Ukraine that provides education for children in hospitals. It helps return childhood to children whose lives are overshadowed by procedures, tests, and diagnoses. Today, the School operates 26 educational centers across 19 regions of Ukraine.
