For the first time since the beginning of the invasion, the Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility will take place on the streets of Kyiv

On October 13, the participants of the charity Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility will run beyond the borders of Trukhanovo Island — for the first time during the full-scale war.

Like all Run Ukraine events, the Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility will have an important charitable component, the total amount of which will cross the mark of 10,000,000 hryvnias for the army and charitable initiatives.

The main marathon of the country will take place on two days, October 12 and 13. But the participants will run through the streets of the city only on Sunday, the Saturday races will take place within the boundaries of Trukhanovo Island.

The start of the Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility will take place on Trukhanovo Island. Further, the route will pass through the Northern Bridge, Obolon, Natalka Park and the Azov Wave Bridge - in one lap for the participants of the half-marathon distance (21 km) and in two laps for the marathon runners (42 km).

For the safety of the participants, on Sunday, October 13, a partial traffic restriction will be organized, without a complete closure. In particular, traffic on the North Bridge will be limited to two lanes in one direction.

On the first day of the Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility, October 12, traffic restrictions will not apply.

When making this decision, the city authorities took into account a number of factors, including security issues and the social importance of the event.

Charity. Already at the stage of preparation, the Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility collected more than UAH 6,000,000 for charity. In general, it is planned to collect more than UAH 10,000,000 within the framework of the event.

Social integration of soldiers and wounded. As part of the event, there will be a separate start for active military and war veterans.

Psychological support of Ukrainians. Sports activities have a positive effect on physical and mental health. This year, twice as many people want to join the starts of the Nezlamnosti Kyiv Marathon than last year.

Safety of participants. There will be significantly more shelters on the longer route. Runners will be able to concentrate on the route and, in the event of an air alert, use the nearest shelter without forming clusters.

50% of the profit from the various distances of the Kyiv Marathon will be donated to UNITED24, a state fundraising platform launched by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, to collect charitable donations in support of Ukraine. In addition, the distance of 1.6 km will be completely charitable and 100% of the funds from the registrations will be directed to the Superhumans center.

Kyiv Marathon of Invincibility has traditionally been held in the Ukrainian capital since 2010, gathering thousands of runners from Ukraine and abroad at the start.

This year, the country's main marathon will be held on October 12-13.
