From January 8 in All Cinemas: 1+1 Media Has Begun Work on the Romantic Comedy "Probation"

It became known that this year the 1+1 Media team has begun work on the second full-length film of its own production - the romantic comedy "Probation", which will be released in wide Ukrainian distribution on January 8, 2026.

The film is being produced by 1+1 Media together with the SFERA FILM production team. The film is produced by Anna Gonchar, head of investment and partnership projects of the 1+1 Media Television Business, and Dmytro Safanovsky. The author of the script is Yevhen Burgela, the director is Iryna Gromozda. The film's distributor in Ukraine is B&H Film Distribution.

The filming of the film will begin in September in Kyiv, and who will play the main roles will be known very soon. However, the team is intriguing: both superstars of the Ukrainian film industry and those actors who, without a doubt, will become a real discovery are involved in the filming.

"This year, we have already started work on the second full-length film of 1+1 Media - this is a logical step in the development of the direction of cinema content production. We systematically work in different segments, this is one of our business vectors, which helps to expand the audience, create new opportunities for partnerships and form a competitive Ukrainian product," - said Yaroslav Pakholchuk, CEO of 1+1 Media.

"Probation" is a romantic comedy about a career that was not planned and feelings that could not be predicted in advance. About those who broke down but didn't give up. And about the fact that sometimes the main test is the ability to trust again.

“We want to make a light, kind, witty, but at the same time emotionally honest film about people who learn to open up and trust again. “Probation” is about new chances that appear when you least expect them. In our story, there are modern heroes with whom you can laugh, cry and fall in love at the same time. We are sure that the viewer will find a piece of themselves in the film,” -  adds Anna Gonchar.

About the plot:

The main character Polina is the glamorous daughter of a businessman who is used to a carefree life. After her father's betrayal, she finds herself on probation at an advertising agency. There, she competes for a position with Roman, an ambitious and principled colleague who sees the world completely differently.

Their professional rivalry gradually develops into conflicts, unexpected rapprochements, and situations where it is difficult to distinguish work tasks from personal feelings.

This is a romantic comedy with topical humor about finding trust, new beginnings, and how even the toughest competition can unexpectedly become a love story.

The premiere of "Probation" in Ukrainian cinemas is January 8, 2026.
