Statement of 1+1 media regarding the accusations of Mereja Lanet LLC

In response to the letter from "Merezha Lanet" LLC dated July 12, 2020, we inform you that the information published in the company's application is untrue, incorrect and manipulative. Indeed, the 1+1 media group, as one of the largest industrial players, openly advocates the development of the pay TV market, in particular, the need to encode the signals of all entertainment channels on the satellite and actively opposes piracy in all its manifestations. However, the media holding cannot influence the activities of the providers in the manner specified in the statement, because these are economic relations of each individual business entity.

The 1+1 media group did send the mentioned letter dated June 23, 2020 (issue No. 181151) for the purpose of conducting negotiations on revising the commercial terms of cooperation with "Merezha Lanet" LLC. We have discovered facts that the provider does not control its subscriber base, especially cable, and does not report on all its active subscribers. It is very surprising that "Lanet" LLC reacted only now to the letter of June 23 and in this form. In addition, by publishing a scanned copy of the letter contrary to the provisions on confidentiality of the agreement. We would like to note that the management of the "Lanet" company did not officially contact the 1+1 media group regarding the received letter. There were attempts by one of the shareholders of "Network Lanet" LLC to contact the management of the media group, but in the end it ended with the appearance of such a strange statement after many years of fruitful partnership.

For our part, we would like to note that we continue to care about the purity of relations between rights holders and providers and about the development of the market. We have information that from September 1 the channels of the "Continent TV" group (Trofey, Terra, Nauka, Fauna) will be coded. The coding date of the Niki Kids, Niki Junior, EU Music, XSport channels is also specified. We support the desire of the industry to develop and reach a new level of development of the pay TV market.

In addition, we inform you that similar letters were sent to several other providers, with all of them, in contrast to "Lanet", negotiations are underway in a constructive direction.
