"Victory of the Unconquered" in Ivano-Frankivsk: almost 300 veterans took part in the all-Ukrainian sports event
A large-scale sports event for war veterans, “Victory of the Unconquered,” was held in Ivano-Frankivsk, organized by the Strongman Federation of Ukraine in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. Almost 300 war veterans from 20 regions of Ukraine took part in the competition. In parallel, competitions for cadets of military institutions under the Strongman program were also held.
Before the start of the veteran competitions, the “StrongWorkout” site was solemnly opened — a joint initiative of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine, the Bukovel tourist complex, and the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. “StrongWorkout” is an almost full-fledged open-air sports hall where townspeople and veterans can train as effectively as possible. There are plans to open a total of six such sites in the communities of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
During the personal veteran competitions “Victory of the Invincible” in Ivano-Frankivsk, tournaments in bench press, rowing on the “Concept-2” simulator, air bike, kettlebell snatch and invastrong were held.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of the organizing committee of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine, I want to say that we are very happy that you all came here together and each individually to these competitions, and to thank you for being with us in this process — the process of rehabilitation through physical culture and sports,” said Vasyl Virastyuk, Honorary President of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine.
The main goal of the competitions is to promote the strengthening of the patriotic spirit in society by involving military personnel, war veterans and persons discharged from military service, service in law enforcement agencies, who suffered injuries, wounds or illnesses during or as a result of performing their duties in a combat zone.
