1+1 media starts selling solutions for copyright protection on the Internet

The "1+1 Media" group announced the launch of a new commercial product SUDUM - a technological and legal system for copyright protection on the Internet, which helps block illegal copies of video content on websites, popular social networks and video hosting.

SUDUM automatically searches for illegal copies of videos on the Internet 24/7. After detecting pirated versions of the content, the program automatically sends a complaint to the website, hosting provider or social network administration, depending on the platform where the content was posted. The operation of the system is monitored by 1+1 media specialists in order to avoid accidental blocking of legal content.

SUDUM was developed by the 1+1 Digital department to protect the media holding's own content from pirates. After the first year of the system's operation, 1+1 media managed to achieve 94% efficiency in cleaning up illegal videos on the Internet: 200,000 copies were removed, and the profit from increased traffic on the group's online resources grew by 40%.

"Internet piracy is a significant problem for rights holders and one of the main reasons why they are not making a profit. Today, content producers are coming together to solve this problem. It is important for us to be a company that not only fights against pirates, but also offers the market its solutions to fight against them. We have rich experience in protecting our own content and are ready to scale it to the businesses of other rights holders," says Anna Tkachenko, director of the digital direction of 1+1 media.

Today, SUDUM is able to protect the interests of rights holders in the Runet and Unet, and the first clients of 1+1 media were KINOMANIA, KINOLIFE Distribution, Must See Movie and Ukrainian Film Distribution.

The SUDUM development plans include expanding the types of content that the system can protect: audio files, texts, graphic images. In addition, in case of success on the Ukrainian market, 1+1 media plans to offer its solution to foreign rights holders.
