1+1 media reports that the national operator "Zeonbud" has encoded its satellite signal

Today, October 21, it became known that the national operator of terrestrial digital television "Zeonbud" encoded its satellite signal. This industry-critical step took place today as part of the satellite signal coding project, which will be fully implemented in January 2020. The "IRDETO" conditional access system is used to encode the satellite signal, in accordance with the agreement, the signing of which was announced in July.

Thus, according to the press service of LLC "Zeonbud", the satellite communication signal, which is placed on the Astra4A satellite and with which "Zeonbud" delivers the television signal of TV channels from its main station to more than 140 terrestrial broadcast stations, is now broadcast in coded form.

For its correct reception and further retransmission, the receiving satellite equipment of the terrestrial transmission stations of three digital multiplexes (MX-1,2,3) is already equipped with satellite signal decoding devices that provide full protection against illegal access and viewing. At the same time, TV viewers who receive the signal of the T2 digital network from the air will continue to have the opportunity to watch TV programs for free in an open, unencoded form.

The next step in the satellite signal coding project will be an intensive information campaign and short-term pendulum outages of the satellite TV signal, which will begin on   November 4.   The purpose of the outages is to once again draw the attention of satellite subscribers to the fact of the inevitability of signal coding, as well as to remind subscribers to plan their family budget in advance and purchase or replace their satellite receivers (satellite signal decoders) with certified receivers that support the " VERIMATRIX " coding system , which will be distributed in retail chains under the "UTB" trademark.

In addition, the subscriber of satellite reception can choose other modern methods of receiving and viewing television channels: over-the-air broadcasting (T2), cable OTT or IPTV television.

"Our media group is glad that such a long-awaited step has finally taken place. This is truly a landmark event that the entire industry has been waiting for for several years. We welcome Zeonbud's observance of the coding terms defined by the market, because only thanks to the joint and unified actions of all participants, we can effectively develop the pay TV market in Ukraine," commented Andriy Malchevskyi, director of the distribution and development department of the 1+1 media broadcasting network.
