12 years of quality media education: 1+1 media school celebrates its birthday
On September 20, 1+1 media school, the educational project of 1+1 Media, celebrates its 12th anniversary. Over the years, the school has become a key player in Ukraine’s media education market, annually training hundreds of students who go on to join various industry-related companies. It continuously improves its educational programs and equips graduates with practical knowledge. The main goal of the project is to make high-quality media education accessible, modern, and highly practical.
Training at 1+1 media school takes place in studios and on film sets. Approximately 70% of each course is hands-on practice, and the school’s instructors are renowned journalists, TV presenters, and actors.
Among the most popular offerings are the intensive course by Liudmyla Barbier “On-Camera Hosting”, presentation skills classes by Tymur Miroshnychenko, the “Dubbing Actor” course by 1+1 channel brand voice Serhii Mohylevskyi, and the “Universal Journalist” program curated by Tetiana Bilous and Alla Mazur, a TSN anchor on 1+1 Ukraine channel.
“1+1 media school is first and foremost about professionalism, experience, and constant innovation. These 12 years are just the beginning. We continue evolving alongside the industry, introducing new formats, supporting important projects and initiatives, and building a media community that will be vital for the Ukraine of the future”, — commented Anastasiia Kuzmenko, Head of 1+1 media school.
In just the past year alone, the school has achieved significant results. A total of 232 students successfully completed their training, and 21 courses were delivered, including new directions such as acting and improvisation and children’s dubbing. An important part of the activity was implementing corporate educational programs for both the public and private sectors. Media school training was attended by communications professionals from the State Emergency Service (SES) and National Police, community specialists, local government representatives, employees of Carlsberg and E-governments Academy, and 25 heads of local communities.
Moreover, 1+1 media school contributed to the development of a communication strategy for a medical company, and implemented a number of projects focused on working with children and youth. For instance, instructors held a children’s media school in partnership with KMDSH, conducted two events for children in the city of Kamianske, as well as masterclasses, tours, and free lectures for students of IT STEP SCHOOL.
Throughout its 12th year of operation, 1+1 media school also took part in several social and charitable initiatives: it became a partner of “1% Club” and Megogo, participated in the “Iron Shift” project by Ukrzaliznytsia, and fulfilled a number of children’s non-material wishes as part of the “Make a Dream Come True” initiative.
