Charity Race of Honour named after Recruit

On 30 June, Kyiv will host a charity race for the Recruit Honor.

Recruit is the nickname of Oleksiy Chubashev, a military journalist who filmed the author's programme Recruit.ua about military training.

The race is for charity: 100% of the registration fee will be donated to the International Legion (Defence Intelligence of Ukraine).

Throughout his life, Oleksiy paid a lot of attention to physical fitness and was an active runner and sportsman himself, so his wife Yulia Chubasheva initiated the organisation of the race together with Run Ukraine.

Oleksiy was a soldier and took part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the International Legion of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

On 10 June 2022, Oleksii Chubashev was killed in action near Sievierodonetsk.

The Recruit's Run of Honour is a manifesto of the values that should unite Ukrainians today: to be resilient, to keep overcoming difficulties and to make every effort to win.

This event is both about strength of spirit and faith, about the struggle and unquestioning respect for the military, thanks to whom we have a home front where we can continue to live and work.

The programme of the event includes 5 and 10 kilometre races, which can be joined both offline in Kyiv and online from anywhere in the world. Civilians and military personnel will take part in the competition, most of whom will run the distance in their units.

So, join the race to share the values of Recruit through the kilometres you cover.
