A selection of books by Olga Musiyko, HR Director of 1+1 media
As a reminder, 1+1 media and the national book platform Yakaboo have joined forces to promote the Ukrainian language, literature and support for the military.
As part of our partnership, we continue to share selections of the most relevant books and book recommendations from 1+1 media presenters and managers.
This time, we are sharing a selection of books from Olga Musiyko, HR Director of 1+1 media.
"It is extremely important to learn about Ukrainian culture, learn the language and take an interest in our history, as this is how we promote everything Ukrainian. That is why my selection is full of historical books that will be useful for adults and children. In addition, let's not forget about personal development, improving leadership skills, and increasing efficiency - you will find useful book resources for this in the selection.
"Gates of Europe. The History of Ukraine from the Scythian Wars to Independence". Serhiy Plohiy
I believe that today many of us need to fill in the gaps in our knowledge of Ukrainian history. That is why my first recommendation is Serhiy Plokhiy's book "The Gates of Europe. The History of Ukraine from the Scythian Wars to Independence". In it, the author tells in an interesting and accessible way about the history of our country since the time of Herodotus. Many facts that we have known since school days are interpreted in the book in such an interesting way that it is impossible to put it down. This is not a boring comprehension of historical events.
"Anna Yaroslavna: Princess of Kyiv and Queen of France". Ivan Malkovich
A historical book for children with very beautiful illustrations. This is a story written in a light form about the life of a prominent woman, the daughter of Yaroslav the Wise, a Ukrainian princess of the times of Kyivan Rus. There is not much true information about the real Anna, but there are many attractive stories, among which the author has chosen those that will be most interesting for children. In addition, you can spend a long time looking at the beautiful colour illustrations that fill this book.
"Spare. Memoirs of Prince Harry". Harry Mountbatten-Windsor
The history of the British crown family is full of secrets, complex relationships and majestic events, and this has made it one of the most interesting and mysterious in the world. Therefore, I advise everyone to read the book by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. This is a fascinating memoir where he tells about his life in the royal family, shares secrets and details that have never been covered before.
"Self-Made Woman. Stories of Women's Leadership". Anton Savochka
The book discusses the development of leadership skills through the examples of successful women. The author also shares techniques that create opportunities for personal growth and help develop leadership potential. Each chapter of the book contains a story of a prominent woman who, having developed leadership skills, became an example for others - Princess Olga, Roksolana, Cleopatra, Madonna, Oprah Winfrey and many others.
"The Advantage: Why Organisational Health Trumps Everything Else in Business". Patrick Lencioni
This book is about the fact that the success of any company is determined not only by strategy, finances and market indicators. It emphasises the importance of corporate culture and how this culture can help or hinder the achievement of long-term goals. The book also shows that working with a company's culture requires a lot of effort. It also contains a lot of tools.
