"1+1 media" group presented the first report on corporate social responsibility

With the intention of public systematic reporting of its activities, 1+1 media, as a company advocating responsible business conduct, organized an open meeting with interested stakeholders on January 25 in order to take into account their wishes and suggestions regarding the preparation of the non-financial report for 2017 by the group. As part of the event, 1+1 media, the only one among Ukrainian media groups , presented its first report on corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The non-financial report of 1+1 media was the result of a voluntary initiative of the company, and not a consequence of the demands of shareholders or international partners. It reveals to the public the main aspects of the group's activities over the past 4 years with an emphasis on 2016 and structures the results of projects that were implemented within the framework of 5 main strategic directions of corporate social responsibility: Happy employees, Clean environment, Quality education, Healthy nation and Respect for copyright .

The essential issues of the first non-financial report of 1+1 media were responsible content, own production of Ukrainian products, employee development, educational projects for young people, environmental responsibility, improving the health of Ukrainians, and copyright protection. To minimize the negative impact on the environment, the report was created only in electronic form.

"Understanding that our work is seen by everyone, and our content is watched by millions of Ukrainians every day, we bear a great responsibility, because we can change people's lives with our influence. It is very important for us that these changes are positive, and therefore, in its work, the 1+1 media team takes into account the interests of society and is the initiator of positive and qualitative changes. We believe that this responsibility applies not only to the content, but also to everyone's behavior," comments Oleksandr Tkachenko, CEO of 1+1 Media.

The meeting was attended by employees of 1+1 media, partners, project volunteers, Ukrainian and international public organizations, charitable foundations, as well as representatives of companies with which the media group implements social projects. In addition, feedback on what issues are important for 1+1 media to cover in the CSR report for 2017 was also received from the online audience of the company's content consumers.

"Our goal is not only to report on our own activities publicly, but also to inspire others with our example. That's why, in order to share our experience, we openly talk about projects that turned out great, and we don't keep silent about what didn't work out and how we fixed the situation. To make it interesting to read, we told the stories of our colleagues and partners. Also, in the report, we shared future plans for each important issue, and we are ready to talk about their implementation next time. The report is quite large, but interactive. Everyone has the opportunity to quickly find only the part that interests him. I believe that it will be useful and useful to readers," says Maryna Hrytsenko, head of the corporate social responsibility group of 1+1 media.
