"I am very jealous of young people because there were no such opportunities in my time." Ukrainian Student Summit
The Ukrainian Student Summit, an event dedicated to youth career development, took place in Kyiv. On October 24, STUD-POINT and leading companies and students gathered at the Sense Hub creative space to discuss professional topics, learn the secrets of successful job interviews, and get to know employers.
STUD-POINT is a Ukrainian company that has been helping students find their career happiness for over nine years. The company aims to have 1 million successful career cases, which can be realized through such events.
"We understand that today's students are tomorrow's experts, managers in business, the country, and future pensioners. Everything starts small. STUD-POINT helps everyone to find their vocation, resulting in career success cases," says Volodymyr Shvets, founder and CEO.
Today's youth lack offline events, so the Ukrainian Student Summit is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and start a career. Students talked not only to their peers but also to company representatives.
"I am very jealous of young people because there were no such opportunities in my time. STUD-POINT is a community that unites Ukrainian universities and employers on one platform. This allows you to learn firsthand about all the career opportunities at the best companies in the country," says Anastasia Sikosa, Head of Retail Training and Development at Raiffeisen Bank.
Many people are familiar with the topic of finding a first job. Students face this during their studies or when graduating from higher education institutions. They need help understanding how to find a job, where to go, or where they can gain experience. During the event, the speakers shared their experiences and career opportunities that inspired them to succeed.
Here, Iryna Shevchuk, Head of the Marketing Team at EPAM Campus, notes: "Look for your place in the world. It is impossible to guess whether you will like this or that job if you have not worked a single day. So look for opportunities to try something different."
In her turn, Svitlana Sokur, Head of Recruitment and Adaptation at Oschadbank JSC, shares: "The phrase that has become my life credo is "Goal, effort, result. "These are three things without which it is impossible to move forward. Set ambitious goals, don't wait for everything to happen by itself, make efforts, and you will definitely achieve the expected results."
The point most frequently mentioned by employers is not related to hard skills - it is not to be afraid. The Summit also develops soft skills, so you are fearless when trying and acting. You may not always be lucky, but you will at least try.
Sofia Oleksiuk once took advantage of these tips and free courses from STUD-POINT. Now, she holds the position of HR Generalist at Futurra Group and talks about this experience: "I took my first course on recruiting from STUD-POINT and attached it to my CV. Many fears, uncertainty about the future, and self-doubt are formed. Many are afraid to start. Young people lack proactivity, motivation, and self-confidence."
