Maincast: 1+1 Distribution will handle the distribution of the new esports TV channel

Ukrainian esports company Maincast has announced the launch of its channel, which will be distributed by 1+1 Media Distribution.

Maincast is the largest esports broadcaster in Eastern Europe, holding 95% of the media rights to broadcast top-tier esports tournaments in Ukrainian. The channel's content will be available on key OTT platforms and regional IPTV providers starting November 30.

As part of the partnership, Maincast will be responsible for content creation, while 1+1 Media will handle the channel's distribution. The goal for 2024-2025 is to maximize the channel’s reach and coverage of global esports tournaments, podcasts, and charity shows. This will be achieved by involving a large number of providers and leading OTT platforms, including Kyivstar TV.

"Over the past few years, esports popularity among Ukrainian audiences has been growing. In the context of the ongoing war, it is essential to support TV channels that create quality content tailored to the audience's needs and simultaneously implement volunteer initiatives into their broadcasts. The goal of our partnership with Maincast is to popularize the channel, so the distribution will cover a wide range of resources: including OTT platforms and regional IPTV providers," — said Ivan Prymakov, Head of Distribution at 1+1 Media.

The channel’s content will include broadcasts of major global esports tournaments (Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Valorant), analytical programs, podcasts, exciting shows, the latest esports news, and charitable initiatives to support the Armed Forces and Security Services of Ukraine. Each year, the channel will generate thousands of hours of exclusive esports content. Additionally, 1+1 Media and Maincast have ambitious plans to expand their partnership in the future.

“For the last five years, circumstances unfortunately prevented us from implementing our long-standing idea — to launch a fully-fledged esports TV channel. We knew the media market needed this, and despite everything, we made it happen. We believe that the partnership between leaders in their fields — Maincast in esports and 1+1 Media Distribution in media — is inherently promising, mutually beneficial, and will undoubtedly provide a boost to both our companies and the media market in general. So, starting November 30, look for the Maincast channel on OTT platforms and with your provider, and join us in watching esports!" — commented Andriy Hryhoriev, CEO of Maincast.
