“Mission 077” Completed: Kyivstar and Come Back Alive Delivered Communications Equipment Worth Over UAH 77 Million to the Military
Kyivstar and the Come Back Alive Foundation have completed their seventh joint project in support of the army — “We Live Here: Mission 077.” As part of the initiative, more than UAH 77 million was raised for communications equipment that enables the Defense Forces to coordinate actions, make decisions faster, and carry out missions more effectively. 1+1 media served as the initiative’s general media partner and provided informational support.
"Together with the Come Back Alive Foundation, we have completed another important project in support of Ukrainian military personnel. This time, we delivered communications equipment to our defenders, equipment on which their safety and effectiveness directly depend. Because when military personnel have reliable communications, they have an advantage. I thank everyone who joined this initiative and continues to support the military, because We Live Here," comments Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar.
The Mission 077 project had three implementation stages. This made it possible to provide reliable communications to four army corps defending along Ukraine’s northern border. Military personnel received comprehensive sets of equipment to ensure autonomous operation. The kits included infrastructure for uninterrupted and secure communications, specialized transport for logistics, and pickup trucks for the rapid deployment of LTE networks within the corps’ areas of responsibility. For the implementation of the project, Come Back Alive additionally cooperated with the Main Directorate of Communications and Cybersecurity of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Within the project, we helped four corps strengthen their communications systems at all levels — from main command posts to combat units and frontline crews. We delivered the necessary machinery and equipment — interactive panels, charging stations, satellite systems, wired telephones, tablets, and more. We also provided specialized vehicles for the rapid deployment, repair, and maintenance of mobile communications points," noted Oleh Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Come Back Alive Foundation.
The project was made possible thanks to contributions from caring citizens, Kyivstar subscribers, and socially responsible businesses. In particular, nearly UAH 22.5 million was raised by subscribers who activated the “Help the Armed Forces of Ukraine+” Superpower or an SMS subscription. In addition, Kyivstar allocated UAH 20 million of its own charitable contribution to support the initiative.
"Communications are the primary system for command and control of troops — at observation posts, and at company, battalion, brigade, or corps headquarters. Communications equipment is our ‘eyes’ and our voice over the radio. Without it, we cannot, for example, launch drones, conduct streams, or carry out approximately 80% of all combat missions overall," comments Yefym Ivanchuk, Commander of the 120th Separate Communications Battalion.
It should be noted that Kyivstar consistently supports Ukraine during wartime conditions: over four years, the company has directed more than UAH 5.1 billion to support the country, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, society, and subscribers. Currently, Kyivstar and the Come Back Alive Foundation continue their cooperation and are expanding the Varan Ground Robotic Systems Operators School.
