The "Knyzhkova Kraina" Festival Will Be Held at VDNG for the Second Time

"Knyzhkova Kraina", which gathered tens of thousands of visitors at the VDNG in the spring, will be held for the second time - September 26-29. Compared to the first, the event will increase the number of thematic areas, and events and will traditionally bring together Ukrainian publishing houses, writers, journalists, bloggers, and other industry figures.

"The first "Knyzhkova Kraina" received incredible support and positive evaluations. There is a great demand from Ukrainians for high-quality and interesting book events - we are happy to satisfy it. The festival's mission is to attract as many people as possible to reading, at the same time to do it thanks to interesting events, activities, and a special atmosphere," emphasizes Yevhen Mushkin, the founder of the "Knyzhkova Kraina".

A large book fair, presentations, master classes, discussions with authors and experts, and meetings with star guests and bloggers will take place at the "Knyzhkova Kraina". In addition, more reading areas will be created at the fall event, where you can immediately dive into the book you just bought.

This time, three new directions will debut at the festival. The "Cinema and Literature" program will be located in pavilion No. 6: profile events, discussion panels between authors and representatives of publishing houses and the film industry, master classes on creating film scripts and screen adaptations will be held here. The veteran-volunteer community BANDERAS acts as curators.

A separate component of the program will be #FRONTMEN — an initiative for the creative representation of military personnel and veterans, which will be held with the support of "Cultural Airborne". Pavilion No. 4 will host meetings with authors who participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war, presentations, and other events.

"We have carefully studied the feedback from the first festival and are improving according to the wishes of our visitors. This time we leave most of the formats and add new directions and programs that may be of interest to readers. Everything to create a place where you can slow down and live these four days here and now, spend time with like-minded people, and do something that inspires," says the head of the festival Ludmila Fit.

In addition, "Knyzhkova Kraina" adds the thematic direction "Fantasy and horror", because these are one of the most popular genres among the Ukrainian audience. Performances by debutantes and well-known authors, performances, quests, interactive events, etc. will take place within the direction. The "Babai" community will be the curator.

At the same time, the festival will preserve and improve the spaces and initiatives that visitors loved during the first event. In particular, the work of children's and educational zones will continue. And for the smallest visitors, special places with care will be created so that parents can rest and freely walk around the territory.

For the first time, "Knyzhkova Kraina" was held at VDNG on April 25-28, 2024. The event gathered more than 68,000 visitors, and more than half of them had not been to literary events before.

For the second time, "Knyzhkova Kraina" will be held on September 26-29 at VDNG. Free entrance.
