1+1 Media's Project on the Reintegration of Veterans "Life after Scars" Won a Prestigious International Award

On Friday, December 6, the winners of the European Excellence Awards 2024 were announced - a prestigious international competition where the professional community from around the world recognizes the most outstanding communication campaigns of the year. Thus, the first place in the main category "Internal Communications" went to the 1+1 media project "Life after Scars", designed to help veterans on their way back to civilian life, as well as to systematize the unique experience of Ukrainian employers in interacting with this target audience.

The initiative is based on more than 10 years of relevant experience of 1+1 media in communicating with veterans and includes various formats: from special projects on digital platforms and Kyivstar TV, social advertising, thematic partnerships with Ukrainian businesses, to integration into television programs and columns.

“5 years ago we won the #EEA for the project on combating ageism — #forgettheveteran. Now — for the project about those who fight the greatest evil in this world. We are facing very serious challenges. And I am sure we will cope — together, side by side, in a democratic and free world. So thank you for your support, for your attention and for everything you are doing for Ukraine’s victory,” said Yana Lyakhovych, Head of the Corporate and Integrated Communications Department at 1+1 media, from the EEA stage, recalling those Ukrainians who are still in Russian captivity.

We also remind you that the development of the digital guide “Life after Scars” is underway, which aims to collect unique business experience in interacting with veterans. The document will contain practical advice, cases and strategies of employers who have successful experience integrating veterans into their teams. 1+1 media, together with the job search platform robota.ua, will ensure wide distribution of the directory, which will highlight important initiatives of Ukrainian business and inspire employers who are just starting to work systematically with veterans.

Ukrainian businesses can join the creation of a digital directory and share their experience in the reintegration of veterans. To do this, you need to fill out the questionnaire at the link. The collection of cases will continue until the end of 2024.

The main platforms of the “Life after Scars” project are Facebook and Instagram 1+1 media, 1+1, 2+2, the film and television platform Kyivstar TV, news sites TSN.ua, UNIAN, Glavred and 1+1, TV channels 1+1 Marathon, 1+1 Ukraine, 2+2, TET and others.

Project partners are the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the job search platform robota.ua, the Ukrainian Veterans Fund, the NGO "Heart of Azovstal", the NGO "Bezbarʼyernost" and the community "Business without Barriers", the online cinema and television platform Kyivstar TV, the INTERTOP chain of stores.
