1+1 Media's 'Make a Dream Come True' initiative helped the son of a deceased hero to meet Yevhen Klopotenko

The 1+1 media initiative 'Make a Dream Come True' helped 14-year-old Tymofiy Osypkov, the son of a deceased hero, meet with chef and creative entrepreneur Yevhen Klopotenko.

Cooking united the boy's family. The family always cooked according to Yevhen's recipes, and the dreamer himself aspired to become a chef. However, after his father died in the Bakhmut sector, Tymofiy's desire faded.

'I was 5-6 years old when I started cooking for the first time. My mum and dad had always been doing it, so I started to help out. My dad often cooked breakfast, borscht, pancakes, or potato dishes,' Tymofii said during the meeting.

To rekindle his thirst for the hobby, 1+1 media producer Akim Halimov invited Tymofii Osypkov to shoot a special Christmas episode of The Real History project with Yevhen Klopotenko as a guest.

'It is worth paying attention to children who have lost their families. It is a huge tragedy for them. It is difficult for us adults to live under fire, with constant power outages and war around us, so we must help them. They need a lot of support. It is also important to involve them in Christmas celebrations and family holidays and introduce values today,' added Akim.

First, the schoolboy learned from Akim about the history of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Preserve, where the episode was filmed, and then met his idol in person.

'In our conversation, Tymofii talked about what is used in professional kitchens and answered 30% of the questions I ask new employees. So he is someone who can already work in the kitchen. I have never thought about being someone's idol. It's a responsible and enjoyable job at the same time. I love food, trying to revive something, and doing what I like. But do I deserve it?' comments Yevhen.
