Reflection on February 24: A performance dedicated to the anniversary of the full-scale invasion will be shown at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater in the capital

On February 24 at 17:30, the New Stage of the National Academic Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka will host a unique premiere — the play “Blockpost” in an experimental format, presented simultaneously on stage and online. After the performance, a discussion will take place to help reflect on the changes we have experienced over the past three years. Media partners of the event are 1+1 media, the 1+1 Ukraine TV channel, and the Kyivstar TV platform.

“Blockpost” is a flashback to the events of February 24, 2022. The play, written by Anton Nesmiianov in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion, has already been translated into several European languages. Recently, it was staged in the Romanian city of Timișoara by director Oleksandr Stepantsov.

On the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the performance will offer viewers not only a chance to remember what they have endured but also to comprehend their current state. Special guests who met February 24, 2022, in a theater, a ministerial office, a live television broadcast, or at the front, together with the audience will discuss those events and their impact.

Initiated by the Lesya Ukrainka Theater and the 1+1 Ukraine TV channel, the performance aims to  comprehend traumatic experiences, foster mutual support, and encourage reflection. It is an opportunity to share personal stories and feel the support of those who are nearby.

Among the invited guests are actor and serviceman Yuriy Kukharenko, former Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko, chief editor of the “Babel” publication Kateryna Kobernyk, and actress Olena Kravets.

The discussion will be moderated by Yehor Hordeev, host of “Breakfast with 1+1” and “Argument Kino”, who was the first to announce the full-scale invasion on live television.
