MEDCONGRESS on public health was held in Lviv, hosted and moderated by Natalia Moseychuk

MEDCONGRESS, dedicated to public health, was recently held in Lviv.

The event was attended by doctors, heads of medical centres, government officials, and moderated by Natalia Moseychuk, 1+1 Ukraine presenter, curator and chairman of the Superheroes School Board of Trustees.

The participants shared their experiences and ideas on how to prevent diseases. In general, teachers, social workers and clergy are trained in Lviv region to recognise anxiety in people.

"When the society is feverish and we are shaking (let's be honest with ourselves), we need to speak as frankly as possible. And it is also necessary for society to always have support. On state institutions, organisations, self-government, leaders. On all those who could support the mental health and, in general, the public health of the whole nation. It was the latter that was discussed by the leaders of the medical industry and public opinion in Lviv during MEDCONGRESS," said Natalia Moseychuk.

The first event was a panel discussion on "What is Public Health in all spheres of life and community activities" with the participation of Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the Lviv Regional Military State Administration, Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv, Myron Uhryn, President of the National Union of Dentists, and Natalia Ivanchenko-Timko, Director of the Lviv Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

"I had the honour of moderating this event and I have not regretted for a single second that I agreed to Oleksandra Yanovych's proposal. Because you leave your own information bubble and find yourself in a society that is reviving itself right in the middle of a war. People who lend a hand to the soldiers who gave a part of themselves for us, people with special needs, people with disabilities, people with many children, displaced people. I saw the heads of various medical units discussing how to make it a norm in society to take care of oneself. How to introduce health education. How to share successful rehabilitation experience. How to help regions that are civilisationally changing the form of employment and lifestyle," added Natalia Moseychuk.

In addition, during other panel discussions, the speakers discussed the importance of a healthy workplace for employees, mental health as a key to the nation's "public health", etc.

"The war is ongoing and has catastrophic consequences for the lives and health of our citizens across Ukraine. The medical infrastructure has been destroyed, and all supply chains for medicines have been broken. The Congress is an opportunity to develop a clear public health strategy, starting with your family and ending with healthcare, education, and business institutions," said Oleksandra Yanovych, founder of the MEDCONGRESS project.
