"1+1" channel is the most watched and most trusted by Ukrainians, according to Info Sapiens research

According to the data of the all-Ukrainian national representative survey by Info Sapiens, among Ukrainian TV channels, residents of the country watch the "1+1" channel most often, and continue to trust it the most.

The public opinion survey was conducted on March 25-29, 2020 regarding the situation in Ukraine during the coronavirus pandemic. Among other things, the questions related to the sources of obtaining information by the country's residents. Thus, television remains the main source of information: three quarters of Ukrainians (74%) receive news from television. In second place by a significant margin are Ukrainian Internet sites, from which less than half (47%) of Ukrainians learn news, and in third place - social networks (42%).

In addition, when answering the question of which channel do you regularly watch news or political programs, 45% of respondents indicated the "1+1" channel. This indicator is the highest among all Ukrainian TV channels. The "ICTV" channel was in second place (32%), and the "Ukraine" channel was in third place (28%). The study also showed that both in 2019 and 2020, the "1+1" channel is trusted the most (22%). ICTV and Ukraina TV channels are trusted by 9% and 7% of the population, respectively.

The channels of the 1+1 media group are increasing their reach based on the results of the first weeks of the quarantine. The daily reach of the "1+1" channel remains the largest among all Ukrainian channels and in April it increased to 31% in terms of audience 18+ (all of Ukraine). This means that every third Ukrainian watches "1+1" every day.

Against the background of the situation in the country, "TSN" remains the best news program. Every evening, an average of 3.8 million people watch the main issue of "TSN", and about 5.4 million come into contact with the final "TSN. Week". The TSN team is on call 24/7 to inform Ukrainians about all important topics related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The last four episodes of the socio-political talk show "The Right to Power", which raises the country's most pressing issues, were broadcast without an audience in the studio and highlighted issues of life in the country during the coronavirus pandemic that are embarrassing for every Ukrainian. The program continues to lead in its segment.

Research information

The research sample is 809 respondents. The survey was conducted by the CATI method (computer-assisted telephone interviews) based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. The sample is representative of the adult population (age 18 and older) of Ukraine by sex, age, size of the settlement and region of residence. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea was excluded from the study, and in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the survey was conducted only in the territories controlled by Ukraine. The maximum theoretical error does not exceed 3.4%. The survey was conducted on March 25-29, 2020 at Info Sapiens' own expense.
