Host Timur Miroshnychenko became an ambassador of the March Ukrainian language courses from the All-Ukrainian Movement "United"
1+1 media TV presenter Timur Miroshnychenko supports the Ukrainian language courses created by the "United" project and encourages those who want to improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language, increase literacy, enrich their vocabulary and improve their diction to join the initiative.
The goal of the All-Ukrainian Movement "United" is to help 1,000,000 people switch to the Ukrainian language by the end of 2024. Since July 2023, the "United" Movement has been increasing the number of live Ukrainian language conversation clubs in the de-occupied territories of Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
"I have a dream that everyone in Ukraine should speak Ukrainian, no matter how strange it may sound. My inner circle deliberately switched to Ukrainian after the full-scale invasion began. I watched this process with interest. I was happy, supported my friends and helped whenever I was asked. Now, the vast majority of my friends and family who started the journey of switching to Ukrainian in the first days and months of the great war are chirping like nightingales. It's nice to see and nice to listen to. That is why I decided to support the All-Ukrainian Movement "United". After all, their free courses are one of the opportunities to help people, to become an assistant for hundreds, maybe even thousands of Ukrainians who are on this path," says Timur Miroshnichenko.
In order to take a free grammar course or a course to support the transition to the Ukrainian language, you need to register at this link: https://yedyni.org/. The course starts on 4 March. The duration of the course is 28 days. You can join the courses from anywhere in the world.
Participants will receive daily assignments, practice at conversation clubs with professional philologists, and receive advice and support from qualified moderators.
Timur Miroshnychenko emphasised:
"Language matters. I have hundreds of stories from different countries where locals and foreigners, when they hear Russian, are prejudiced against those people. They identify them as Russians. When they hear Ukrainian, they are happy to communicate, open and help. Language is an extremely important issue of self-identification. In my opinion, we need to be conscious about it and, regardless of where you were born or how old you were speaking another language, it is time not only to switch to Ukrainian but also to consume Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian content, and Ukrainian goods."
Recently, the initiative was also supported by 1+1 media producer, founder and host of the Real Story project, Akim Galimov. A recording of the live broadcast is available online, during which Akim spoke about the history of his family, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages in his life, and his work as a screenwriter. You can watch it here. The initiative was also supported at various times by TV hosts of 1+1 Breakfast on 1+1 Ukraine Ruslan Senichkin and Valentyna Khamaiko.
As a reminder, in September 2023, 1+1 media signed a memorandum of cooperation with the United All-Ukrainian Movement "Yedyny" as part of the large-scale communication campaign "Plus Ukrainian", which consolidates efforts to promote the Ukrainian language and culture.
