Statement by 1+1 media on the online campaigns against host Natalia Moseychuk that have signs of being ordered
1+1 media reports on systematic online campaigns against Natalia Moseychuk, host of 1+1 Marathon TV channel, and her own YouTube projects, which have signs of being ordered.
In particular, over the past two months, there has been an increase in the activity of bot farms on the presenter's social media, which follow the same methodology and spread identical narratives. Most of these comments are posted on the TikTok platform from profiles that can be easily identified as fake.
By the way, the vast majority of attacks that have signs of being ordered relate to the topic of mobilisation, which is obviously sensitive for Ukrainian society and can provoke internal strife.
The last such information attack on Natalia concerned the broadcast of the project "Topic with Moseychuk", which took place on 02.05.2024 and is available at this link. In anonymous telegram channels and certain online media, Natalia's words, which were quoted as quotes, were taken out of context and presented as threats to men liable for military service and lawyers, which was not the case.
"I would like to emphasise that the recipients of my appeal at the end of the broadcast of "Topic with Moseychuk" on 02.05.2024 were people who position themselves as "lawyers" and try to discredit the mobilisation process in the country, the military and political leadership and the Ukrainian state as a whole through their social networks. Some of these people, including Ostap Stakhiv, whom I mentioned twice during the broadcast, are facing criminal proceedings on suspicion of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order. Stakhiv, by the way, is actively travelling to villages to "free people from the captivity of the TCC". In 2022, he claimed that "the TCC abducts and tortures people". I consider the presentation of a "cropped" fragment of this broadcast in this form and with this textual accompaniment to be taking my words out of context. The publication of comments from an unknown source and unconfirmed accounts is a manipulation of public opinion about me. Therefore, I urge the media to be conscious and the public not to succumb to manipulations aimed at undermining society," Natalia Moseychuk said.
"We believe that such a manipulative form of presenting information can be beneficial, first of all, to the aggressor country, in order to undermine Ukrainian society from within and divert attention from the main issue.
Therefore, we urge the journalistic community to carefully study the situation before covering certain events that may concern Natalia Moseychuk or any other public figure, as well as to seek official comment. In times of turbulence and full-scale invasion, when the enemy is waging a hybrid war in the information field, it is important to remember the basic principles of media literacy and adhere to journalistic standards.
By the way, 1+1 media has recently launched an educational project to help develop media literacy and recognise fakes. "How to Protect Yourself from Fakes and Disinformation" consists of 10 episodes full of knowledge on countering fakes and disinformation, protecting personal data, and online safety tips. The project is being implemented jointly with the Smart Angel charity and with the financial support of the European Union. You can watch the educational series on Diia.
