Zaluzhny, Lukich and Tyra made a film — with the teachers' names in the credits

The Osvitoria Public Union, together with Global Teacher Prize Ukraine, is launching the “Credits of Recognition” campaign — prominent Ukrainians, including Valeriy Zaluzhny, Antonio Lukich, Svitlana Tarabarova, Taira, Dmytro Shurov, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Svitlana Roiz, and other influential Ukrainians, have joined forces to draw attention to those behind the achievements of each of us — teachers. In the short film, their names are heard in the credits instead of the actors’ — as a sign of respect and gratitude.

Global Teacher Prize Ukraine is a national award for outstanding teachers, a kind of "Oscar" for innovative educators. Every year it recognizes Ukrainian teachers who are changing education - the winner receives 1 million hryvnias for the implementation of their own educational project and a trip to the global award. We remind you that 1+1 media has become the general partner of the award.

But Oscars are not given to those who are not in the credits. So this year the rules of the game are changing. Thanks to the “Credits of Recognition” campaign, everyone can decide for themselves whose name should be added to the credits. This is an opportunity to publicly thank their mentors, those who believed in them, supported them and helped them find their way. From now on, it can be done easily - just nominate a teacher on the website, leaving him or her a few sincere words of gratitude.

“We are used to thanking already famous people — for films, victories, achievements. But we rarely remember those who stood at the origins of these stories. “Titles of Recognition” is our attempt to correct this injustice. After all, every strong personality began with a Teacher — the one who directed and ignited interest in time. And we believe that the culture of gratitude to a teacher is another step towards a strong, conscious nation,” says Zoya Lytvyn, founder of Osvitoria and the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine award for outstanding teachers.

Valeriy Zaluzhny, who took part in the campaign, also emphasized the importance of the teaching profession: “This is an extremely difficult job: not only teaching and consolidating skills, but also a constant process of upbringing, based on love for children. And it doesn’t matter how old this child is: whether he just came to school with his mother, or whether he is a graduate student at a respectable age.”

Psychologist Svitlana Roiz, who took part in the campaign, also remembers her first teacher, who taught her important life lessons: “Zhanna Borisovna showed how to be intelligent, sincere, fair, how to treat students with respect and how to teach them to study. It has been 39 years since I graduated from junior high school. And every year I congratulate her on Teacher’s Day. And I dedicated the book “First-grader book for almost schoolchildren” to her, where she is one of the heroines, namely the first teacher.”

Military servicewoman and paramedic Tyra (Yulia Paevska) remembers her teacher, Lyudmila Ivanovna Chernova, who taught her important survival skills and humanity: “Lyudmila Ivanovna didn’t just teach us the basics of medicine — she taught us to survive. She showed that real learning doesn’t happen in classrooms, but in real-world situations, where you have to not just know the theory, but also have the strength to act. And these lessons became the foundation for me in combat, when I had to do everything to save a life.”

By nominating their teacher, every Ukrainian helps make their contribution visible to the entire country, reminding us that big changes start with the people who inspire and support us every day. Teachers can also fill out the questionnaire on the website — there are no restrictions. You can do this until July 1.

In addition to the main winner, teachers will also be recognized in the nominations "STEM Teacher", "Mathematics Teacher", "Choice of Ukrainians", and "Choice with the Heart".
